TGen to Assess febit’s DNA Capture Method in Next-Generation Sequencing Efforts

[Source: GEN News Highlights] - Translational Genomics Research Institute (TGen) will febit's HybSelect™ in next-generation sequencing equipment. The partnership thus provides TGen scientists premarket access to this technology, which is a method for capturing DNA.

“We will obtain important data from TGen that will help us as we prepare for the official introduction of HybSelect in early 2009,” says Cord F. Staehler, president of febit.

HybSelect enables selective DNA capture and elution, an efficient method to preselect sequences for next-generation sequencers, the companies report. It is based on febit's Geniom Technology and uses arrays within microfluidic biochips for the selection process of targeted DNA. Geniom biochips are programmable and can contain any desired set of capture probes.
