New appointment at Maricopa Intergrated Health System

Dr. Jeffrey Joyce announced the appointment of Janeth Mattox, M.P.A as Manager for Academic Research with the Department of Research at Maricopa Integrated Health System. The appointment is effective as of August 20, 2007. Ms. Mattox has over 15 years’ experience in research administration, including being Chief Operating Officer at Sun Health Research Institute, at the University of Rochester, the University of New Mexico and St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center in Phoenix. She will manage research grants funded by non-profit sponsors such as the National Institutes of Health (NIH), voluntary organizations (e.g., the American Cancer Society), and other non-profit research contracts and grants. Ms. Mattox will also be responsible for assuring that programs and procedures are in place for the training and support of residents and faculty researchers, and will oversee the IRB Office. She will continue our efforts to support research education to all our strategic partners.
